School of Communication's Annual Star Awards

BANDAR SUNWAY - Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus held their annual SOC Star Awards on 3rd June to showcase different works by the School of Communication students and an evening of inspiration to others.
SOC Star Awards’ assistant Project Manager, Celine Foo said: “The award night's main objective was to showcase different works nominated, appreciating students’ hard work as well as inspiring and motivating others to do better.”
The nominees of the night were selected by their respective lecturers and they consist of Foundation, Diploma and Degree students.
Winners were selected by internal committees then presented by representatives of many big names in the industry such as Leo Burnett, Edelman, Sony, The Star and Oprime Works Studios.
Among the 21 awards presented during the memorable evening were Best Short Film, Best Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI), Best News Writing, Best Print Advertisement and Best Student Project.
The highly anticipated award of the night was the award for School of Communication Communicator of the year which was presented by the Dean of Communication, Miss Josephine Tan to Grace Loh Ee Leng.
Foo humbly added: “On behalf of the organising team of the event, we would like to thank everyone that came and supported the event and also we would like to apologize with there was any inconvenience caused throughout the event, please do tell us which area that is in need of improvement.”
The evening was a platform whereby Alumni, seniors, juniors and lecturers of the School of Communication could come together to meet and mingle while enjoying pre-event booths.
There were an estimated 450 attendees consist of students, lecturers and VIPs from different companies to be a part of the event to appreciate the hard work of their fellow students and friends.
